Dr. Fluker is a seasoned fundraiser and revenue generator. She is a highly sought after speaker, diversity trainer, and social media brand strategist. She is the founder and chief elevation officer (CEO) of activate|elevate, LLC, a social media, diversity strategy and executive coaching firm and she is also the founding executive director of the Why Not Win Institute, a targeted non-profit for leadership development and diversity.
In 2018, Dr. Fluker was a speaker and presenter at 18 colleges and universities, to include Texas A&M University, Auburn University and Fisk University; and nine companies and nonprofits, to include Harris Corporation, Coca-Cola Bottling United, Kiwanis Vulcan Club and Leadership Birmingham.
A four-time graduate of Alabama State University and Purdue University, Fluker holds an BA, MA, MBA and PhD. Her published research topic areas are in Social Media, Engagement and Diversity, and she advocates for higher education. From 2010 to 2018, she served as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Alabama State University (ASU) and Miles College in Alabama. During her time in higher education, she lead efforts to raise over $40 million in corporate, individual and foundation donations.
Prior to higher education, Fluker was in corporate America for 13 years. She held global positions of increasing responsibility in Diversity, Marketing, University Relations, Executive Search and Human Resources with Motorola, Inc., United Technologies Corporation (Carrier Corp.) and Honeywell International in Illinois, Georgia, Connecticut and New Jersey.
Originally from Zimbabwe and raised in England and Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Fluker lives between Central New York and Birmingham, AL and is married to her college sweetheart, Kwame and they have two sons Coleman (9) and Anderson (7).
